During the hot Summer months we like to focus on Under The Sea activities! Of course, you can do this theme any time of the year. Although I find the hot months lend itself to the water and sand tray!
Under The Sea Math Activities:
We worked on recognising how many objects there are in a group (up to 10). The children further developed fine motor skills by using the clothes peg to select the correct answer. We also worked on counting out the correct numbers of simple fish to match the numeral.
We also worked on simple graphing skills and matching pictures of ocean animals.
Under The Sea Literacy Activities:
The children also enjoyed the ‘Say, Trace, Make’ cards. We used our magnetic letters to make the words underneath.
We also completed handwriting worksheets. My youngest worked on tracing various patterns, whilst my eldest worked on letter formation and drawing.
Under The Sea Activities:
The girls also had the opportunity to explore different shells. The really enjoyed discovering that you could hear the ‘sea’ in some of the shells!
